The Special Education Department at Eastern Technical High School enables and empowers students with special needs to develop academically, socially, and behaviorally, to become an integral part of the school and their community, and a participating member of a globally competitive society. Students with disabilities, including those on Section 504 plans and with Individualized Education Programs, are entitled to accommodations, supports, and services.
In the event that your child requires special education and related services, you are encouraged to discuss those services with our special education staff. Special education and general education supports are available at Eastern Technical High School to address your child’s needs.
Decisions regarding support services are made on an individual basis through the Individual Education Program (IEP) team process in consultation with the parents or guardians. Decisions for how students are to receive the services are based on the services needed to implement the students’ IEP in the least restrictive environment (LRE).
Students who are entitled to transportation as a necessary and current related service under an IEP or Section 504 Plan are eligible for transportation to Eastern Technical High School.
All Eastern Technical High School’s Magnet Programs are viable options for all students, including students with special education services and Section 504 services.
