Connect Ed Message 3.15.21

Good Afternoon Maverick Families,

This is Principal Anderson with a reopening update.

Reopening Guide

The reopening guide is now available. It contains a lot of important information pertaining to our hybrid in-person instruction. The guide can be found on the website or on the Eastern Tech Communication Hub in Schoology.

Freshman Orientation

Next week when our freshman students return to the building for in-person instruction, we will be hosting a special freshman orientation that will allow students to learn more about our physical space and how to navigate it. Virtual students will be invited to participate. The orientation will be held for Cohort A and Cohort C students with last names beginning with letters A-L on March 22nd during first and second period. It will be held for Cohort B and Cohort C students with last names beginning with letters M-Z on March 25th during first and second period. In-person students should wear comfortable shoes and report to the gym upon arrival. Virtual students will be given a Google Meet code from their A1 teacher on Thursday to join the orientation. An information flyer has been sent via email and can be found on the website.

Transportation

For in-person students using transportation, the bus routes were received today from the Office of Transportation. The bus stops will be posted on the Eastern Tech website within the next 24 hours.  By Friday, parents and guardians will receive an email with their student’s bus stop times and locations. All bus students will receive a bus pass on their first day of in-person instruction with the bus stop information.

Social-Emotional Supports

As we move to a hybrid learning environment, please know that we will continue to provide social emotional supports for students both with in-person and virtual opportunities. These include things like open student group meetings with school counselors during MAVTime, individual student sessions with members of our counseling staff and social worker, and participation in our mentoring group. If a student needs support or resources, please contact the counseling office for additional information or visit the ETHS School Counseling Schoology Group.

As always, please contact me or any of our administrators if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you and have a great evening.
