ConnectEd call home:

Good Afternoon Maverick Families,

This is Principal Anderson with our Friday update.

Student Cohort Identification

Thank you for your patience with our student cohort identification process. I understand that it has been confusing at times as parents were asked to complete two initial surveys provided by BCPS in January and now a possible third one from Eastern Tech if a change is requested.

If you are receiving this Connect Ed call and email, your student is currently registered in <Cohort Identified>.

CTE Seniors

Seniors who participate in our Construction, Allied Health, IT, and Engineering programs have been invited back to school to attend on asynchronous Wednesdays starting March 17th. Students have been asked by their magnet program teacher to complete a survey indicating their desire to return. The survey is located on the student’s magnet course Schoology page.

Hybrid Learning

A general description of hybrid instruction is included as an attachment to the email being sent home and can be found on both the Communication Hub Schoology page and the website. This information is being shared to assist in providing parents and students with some information as to the structure and format of hybrid learning. Additionally, details regarding our school schedule and mitigation practices will be shared next Friday including a video of a hybrid classroom.

SAT Administration

Baltimore County Public Schools will be offering an opportunity for current juniors to take the SAT on Wednesday, March 24, 2021. Students that are interested in taking the exam are asked to complete the registration form no later than Friday, February 26 using the link found on the School Counselor Schoology page, the Communication Hub Schoology page, the website and in the email being sent home. Please note, there will not be an opportunity to register late for this testing administration as there has been in the past so please comply with the registration deadline of February 26.

2021-2022 Registration

At this time, students should have reviewed the information in the 2021-2022 SY COURSE REGISTRTATION MATERIALS folder (located in the ETHS Communication Hub-Resources) and submitted their requests in FOCUS.  Over the next two or more weeks, Eastern Tech Counselors will be meeting individually with every student to review their selections and confirm their choices. At that time, counselors can change the course level of core class if student indicates that desire. Meetings are being set-up through Magnet classes and started today with the rising seniors.

Athletics

The parents of school athletes are asked to monitor the Eastern Tech twitter feed @ETHS_Atheltics for weather updates.

Thank you again for your support.  Have a safe and relaxing weekend.

Ms. Anderson
