Transportation Update from 08/15

We received the bus transportation list on Wednesday and have identified some errors. We are working closely with the Office of Transportation to correct them. These issues primarily affect bus hubs in the Perry Hall area.

Mr. Powell will send another update once the corrections are complete. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

School Messenger Announcement from 08/03

Greetings Maverick Families,

We hope your summer has been all you needed it to be. The start of the school year is almost upon us so we are sending a friendly reminder that your finalized 2025-2026 school schedules will be available in FOCUS this Friday afternoon, August 8th.

Why do I have…in my schedule? I didn't ask for that-did I?

Magnet courses were scheduled first. After those are set, core courses and electives are scheduled based on best fit and available seats. We try to ensure students get their first-choice elective  whenever possible  so if you have something other than that first choice assigned to your schedule, it was because one of the following:

  • Your first choice was either blocked by your magnet or another core singleton (only one section of a course).
  • Your first choice is not running due to low interest or no teacher availability.
  • You chose ½ credit courses that do not meet in the same period (ex: philosophy and abnormal psychology don’t meet in the same period.)
  • You requested a course that required pre-approval and you did not get that approval. (ex: yearbook and some AP courses.)
  • Your backup (if provided) was not available either. If we reached this point, we tried to match requests as closely as possible. In some cases, we had to assign what was available to complete your schedule.

Schedules are final!

This has been an 8-month process. Students had several weeks to complete requests in January and a multi-week window in April to make changes to those requests. Our school staffing and schedule were developed to meet as many of those requests as possible.

If there is a critical error in your schedule [ex: you are missing a graduation requirement, you are in the wrong grade level course, you can no longer do a half-day senior schedule, you are missing a credit] please reach out to Dr. Murphy between August 8-August 14 at [email protected]  or 443-809-0190.

We look forward to seeing all of you on Monday August 25!

We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another successful school year!
