Boys Soccer State Champs 2017On Wednesday, November 22, Eastern Tech High School celebrated the successes of the fall athletics season with an impromptu pep rally. Students from every grade level gathered in the gym to honor the efforts and accomplishments of all student-athletes participating in fall sports activities.

Worthy of particular praise, were members of the JV Field Hockey and Badminton teams (division champions), Varsity Cheer (county champions), Cross-Country (regional champions) and Boys’ Varsity Soccer (state champions). During the pep rally, Varsity Boys’ Soccer coach Peter Glaudemans gave a moving and powerful speech about the team’s season. “These boys are not just great on the field, but they’re great people,” Glaudemans stated proudly. Pride in the athletic accomplishments of Eastern Tech’s Fall champions was palpable during the pep rally, but teachers and administrators also clarified that all student-athletes should be lauded for their involvement and commitment to extracurricular activities which embody the collaborative spirit integral to the success of the school community at large.

English department chairperson Stacey Kalwa echoed this support offering, “The preparation of our student-athletes to achieve consistent distinction is a true representation of the innovation that we strive for here at Eastern Tech. To say that I am impressed by the dedication of our kids on a daily basis is a drastic understatement.”
